Shashank Jha is a survivor of polio and, as a child, faced the challenges of bullying—experiences that shaped both his resilience and his lifelong
commitment to mental health care. His journey in Neuropsychiatry began in
1994 in India, and over the past three decades, he has served as both a physician and a nurse practitioner. In this time, he has witnessed the profound effects of untreated ADHD/ADD, autism, childhood trauma, anxiety, panic, depression, loss/grief, OCD, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, substance use disorders, anger, and many other often undiagnosed mental health conditions—not only on individuals, but also across families and generations.

After earning certification from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates in the United States, he transitioned to serving the
community in Georgia as a nurse practitioner in 2012, following his training
at Kennesaw State University and the University of Cincinnati. He is honored to be a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

In his spare time, he loves to go for long walks with his family and watching Robin Williams’ movies.
