God is Waiting

Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you; And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; Blessed are all those who wait for Him. Isaiah 30:18

“The only thing to seek in contemplative prayer is God; and we seek him successfully when we realize that we cannot find him unless he shows himself to us, and yet at the same time that he would not have inspired us to see him unless we had already found him.” Thomas Merton

God does not ever leaves us; God is an innate piece of us woven into the very fabric of our existence.  Our being is a representation of God and his deep love for us.  The world creates volume in an effort to drown out God’s presence, but God always remains; waiting; waiting for us.  The noise may grow louder resounding our past sins, replaying our brokenness, echoing our unworthiness, but God stands in middle waiting.

Stop a moment to consider the last spiritual revelation you experienced.  Something pulled you towards it.  It could have been an encouraging word from a stranger; a social media post that hit close to home; a friend helping someone; or an invitation to come to church.  God was there waiting for you.

God prepared the table for you in advance.  You are not here by chance or mistake.  God created you at the beginning of all things and waited for you in his abounding love.  God loved you so much, he sent angels before you to guide you in your path.

God has been pulling you towards him before you were born.  God waited for you throughout time knowing that you were worth the wait.

If God is waiting for me, what is holding me back?   If in seeking God, God has already revealed himself to me, what is making me pause?
